How is the weather on the coast of North Carolina? If you have a beach house can you live there all year?

Are there significant differences between the mainland, islands, peninsulas, outer banks, capes? Are there winter storms? Snow? How is the weather on the coast of North Carolina? If you have a beach house can you live there all year?
The coast of Nc is much milder than the mainland being cooler during the summer and warmer than the winter. Dont expect temperatures to fall below 10-20 degrees duirng an average winter, and snow is not too common. Bad Ice storms occur once every few years (maybe even every 15 years or more) with some frozen precipitation occuring, but not neccesarially evey winter. Northern protions are much mroe likely to get frozen preciptation than soutern locations, but both the north and southern coasts of north carolina get little wintery preciptation.

WINTER

Average days will usually be in the mid 50s (the wind along the coast can get nippy though at times) and nights are usually in the mid 30s and occasionally the low 40s.

SUMMER

Average days will be in the mid to upper 80s and low 90s duiring the day, and in the high 60s to mid 70s at night.
