Beach house?

Great...just great. I am going to a beach house this weekend hoping to get away from all my worries and drama. But now I find out the worst thing. I have to spend it watching my little cousin and her friend. They are only a year or two younger than me but are so immature. I was going to finish writing articles for this magazine but now I can't. And I can't bring a friend because it's not my beach house. I don't know what to do. Any ideas? They are 11. Thanks.Beach house?
Come up with lots of things for them to do and turn it into games. And have rewoards if they finish. Talk to your parents about your dilema and see if they will ake you to a dollar store. Pick out a bunch or prizes you know they will like (esp stuff that will keep them busy at the beach!) and wrap them if possible.

First day give them 5 or six tasks. Whoever finishes all tasks and does better gets to pick a prize - or if they fight a lot make them work together to each get a prize at the end of te day. Do this each day - spread out the games and tasks - one every couple of hours. repeat then every couple of days.

Try to think of good weather and dad weather ones..

Here are some ideas:

1) Best sand castle

2) best sand animal (like a turtle or alligator)

3) help set the table and clean up after dinner

4) draw a picture to go with your article

5) Write and perform a short play (10 - 15 minutes)

6) make a mask out of a paper plate

7)stay quiet for half an hour (use this one when you need some writing time!!!)

8) read 20 pages of a book or magazine

Make a chart in the morning or night before of all the activities and each time they complete one they get a check or star or heart and if they get 3 or 5 or whatever works at the end of the day they pick a prize from the prize chest!

Good luck!!!!Beach house?
Who said you have to watch your cousin %26amp; her friend? Did you parents volunteer you to babysit? Whose house it is?

You really need to talk to your parents about the situation. Maybe if you help out a bit, they will give you some time on your own as well.

I understand you don't always want to do what you're told but the fact is, you're a kid and kids need to do what their parents tell them to do.
You sound very selfish.
So you are 12 or 13? I think the drama you need to get away from is your own attitude.

Does someone have a video camera you could borrow? My girls made movies when they were bored. You could write it, they could be the actors and you could direct/film. They are immature because they don't have to be mature, they are 11. Since you think you are so removed from them, then act like it. Maturity is in your behavior and actions, not your words.
just deal with it, really. what else can you do? bring games for them to play to shut their mouths while you try to work, but thats it...11 year olds are hard to please. make it a contest for them; whoever can keep their mouths shut the longest wins a free lunch at mcdonalds.
You have to or you said you would and are now regretting it -

not much you can do now so find a why to stay home and finish writing or try to have someone else babysit??

Make the best of it
